Florida City Cultural Center
NW 1ST Street, Florida City, FL 33034
"RVD Architect Inc. is leading the development of a comprehensive master plan for a new Cultural Center in the City of Florida City. The project includes the relocation of two historic structures—the Florida Pioneer Museum and the Depot Building, the last remaining station in Homestead from Henry Flagler’s Florida East Coast Railway. A new 14,000 sq.ft. museum building is being designed to feature exhibition space, educational areas, and community facilities. The plan also includes the creation of a civic plaza and open public amenities to provide flexible outdoor gathering spaces and cultural programming opportunities. In addition, the historic limestone cottage at City Hall will be carefully restored to preserve its architectural integrity and enhance its functionality.
Rooted in historic preservation, cultural enrichment, and community engagement, the master plan establishes a
dynamic cultural destination that honors the region’s heritage and serves future generations."
